This role reports to the In Situ Geosciences Manager in the Technology & Development Department. The position is located in Calgary, Alberta. The successful candidate will work within a non-operated multi-disciplinary team, liaise with other technical specialists, and advise management on matters related to reservoir engineering.

The responsibilities of this position includes:

- Production performance of the well pairs with respect to geological/reservoir properties and operating conditions
- Mid and short term production forecast methodology improvement
- Surmont JV software tools development follow-up with a special focus on coupled reservoir well bore modeling
- Total Internal reserves evaluation
- Participate actively to the follow-up of In-Situ fields performance in Athabasca
- Provide technical expertise in reservoir engineering in the follow-up of the development of Surmont lease
- Understanding of SAGD performance on Surmont and comparison to other projects (static and dynamics aspects)
- SAGD well pair elevation, length, spacing, operating strategy optimization through close follow-up of operator studies
- SAGD well pair design/completion with respect to flow assurance aspect when dealing with non conventional trajectories, through possible internal studies or follow-up of the operator studies
- Flexibility to use operator software for internal lease evaluation. Follow-up of operator calibration of those software over Phase 1 performance is key
- Strong knowledge of Petrel software needed in order to integrate static and dynamic data
- Ensures proper reporting of the activity within the affiliate and towards headquarters
- Prepare sanction dossiers related to internal sanctions


Compétences requises

Formation et connaissances
- Minimum Bachelors Degree in Engineering
- Member of APEGGA or eligible for said membership
Expérience
- 5-10 years of reservoir engineering
- Oil sands SAGD experience including exposure to production, drilling and completion operations.
- Exposure to metering equipment is appreciated
Aptitudes
- Strong reservoir simulation skills
- Strong well bore reservoir modeling simulation skills
- Very flexible to handle multiple scope changes according to expected project priority evolution
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Exhibits a high degree of enthusiasm, computer skills and team work
